A hidden bar saves trips to the kitchen and yet another large storage cupboard is a true bonus. Being on the spot enabled the purchase of the only cellar (apart from those belonging to the 2 very large apartments) and its invaluable storage of suitcases/gardening tools/shopping bags etc as well of course for wine. Again, the location of the locked garage/mini workshop is the result of being in the right place at the right time.
The master bedroom's walk-in wardrobe and large ensuite bathroom are ever functional and a joy to use. Then there's a little bonus area - christened the Lookery to be used as you wish.
Moving to another "favorite room" you can't help but fall in love with the vaulted ceiling of the dining room - again filled with light and character.

Once discovered Albury caste's it's spell. Winding through the rolling hills to the gated garden of the mansion is an event once experienced never forgotten. Sometimes sheep grazing lambs frolicking pheasants scattering or you're crunching through a carpet of autumn leaves. A sense of peace and tranquility abounds.
A decade ago a chance encounter at The Percy Arms sent us scurrying to the Mansion and the rest as they say is history. Being the first to buy in the Mansion enabled us to have first choice
Ground floor, private as well as a communal entrance with a spacious and functioning floor plan with no stairs consuming precious space and incurring service charge.
The long section of south facing wall and windows traps both light and warmth. Multiple magnificent chimneys gaze down upon our courtyard evoking thoughts of a time long ago.
We've enjoyed countless twilight hours in the garden sharing time with neighbours who have become dear friends. Sometimes games on the croquet lawn with both adults and grandchildren are memories that we take with us. As one dear neighbour has often remarked - "when I come home I take my drink and go down by the river to talk to God" metaphorically speaking for sure but an expression of being at total peace with himself in such a special place.
Even during Albury's past financially troubled times, a sense of community pervaded creating binding friendships. The total trust and never-ending willingness to help has been truly heartwarming as well as ever reassuring.
The apartments within the main house now hold the Freehold enabling management freedom to the individual owners and eliminating the Ground Rent charge.
