Traditionally, St. James's Park was viewed as a rather low key and unexciting neighbourhood, with crowds of civil servants departing at the end of the working day and no atmosphere of an evening. Adding further value to the area, some fashionable bars and restaurants set up shop and now the area blends almost seamlessly between Mayfair, Belgravia and Pimlico.
St. James's Park is home to some of London's most prestigious and iconic buildings and monuments, including Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. There is a wonderful open space here in the shape of St James' Park. It is of course also the home of one of Britain's most famous residents, the Prime Minister, at no. 10 Downing Street.
