Property Description

With stunning views across the New River and to Alexandra Palace, the property has almost 600Sq.Ft of living space, and abundant natural light. The generous reception room has a bay window and ample space for a dining table and the option for a working fireplace. The property was professionally redecorated throughout in early 2019.

The master bedroom fits a king-size bed and large wardrobe while the second bedroom, currently used as an office, is a double. The kitchen is fully fitted and has space for a breakfast table, and the modern bathroom has plumbing for a washing machine and large storage cupboard.

The property is very well-connected, being just a few minutes' walk from Hornsey br station, which connects to Highbury & Islington (Victoria Line) and Moorgate (The city and Northern Line). It's also close to Turnpike Lane underground station (Piccadilly Line).

The flat is set within three fantastic areas for socialising and eating out - there's Green Lanes, with cafés such as Blend and many independent restaurants, plus Hornsey High Street with pubs and cafes and a Sainsbury's store, and Crouch End which has numerous independent shops, cafés, restaurants and bars such as brunch favourites Beam, Gail's and Heirloom.

Sellers Tthoughts -

Station Mansions is a unique place to live – we love the red brick of the building and the garden space. Since we moved in seven years ago, we've done lots to revamp the living space. Most recently, in early 2019, we redecorated, painting throughout, adding new carpet in the main reception room/lounge and building clever storage such as a large bathroom cupboard and utility cupboard, which are invaluable. The lounge has ample space for a dining table and the bedroom fits a large wardrobe and king size bed with a bay window feature. The kitchen is a fantastic place to cook and eat, and the exposed shelves give loads more storage space than standard cupboards.

The thing we love most about living here is the flexibility it offers us. We can use both Hornsey and Turnpike Lane stations, and are within walking distance of two of London's major parks: Finsbury Park (where there are often summer gigs and events) and Alexandra Palace Park – as well as events, the park is ideal for meeting dog-owning friends for a walk or for joining the weekly Park Run.
We're close enough to a very big Sainsbury's for a 'big shop' but also surrounded by some fabulous independent cafes and restaurants on both Hornsey High Street and Green Lanes. The Great Northern Railway Tavern on Hornsey High Street is a popular local, but it only takes us 15 minutes to walk to Crouch End, where we love to go to Beam for brunch, Small Beer for drinks and Heirloom for dinner, as well as the Maynard Arms, Queens and King's Head, where there's excellent comedy.

One of the things we love most about this flat is that it's on the fourth floor, which means we have a fantastic view across the city, from Ally Pally to the Olympic Park – we always go to the fireworks at Ally Pally and you can see fireworks exploding over the city at New Year.

Our second bedroom has enough room for a double bed, but over the years has evolved from bedroom to office/study space as we both work from home. We've just repainted and carpeted this room, so would become a bedroom again in an instant.

The garden is our pride and joy – until two years ago it was rather overgrown, but it's been overhauled by residents, working together to rebuild and plant into a space which is bright, colourful and regularly used socially. The garden is definitely something we'll miss! In fact, the garden probably sums up the community aspect of this building; There's a resident's association which meets to discuss changes (such as re-painting the communal areas) as well as coming together to work on the garden, or signing for each other's post.

This flat has been the ideal first home for us as a couple, offering a space to entertain and with access to everything London has to offer.
