Brief History -

Model Farm was built in 1869 by William Loyd, a wealthy City Banker who lived at the Manor House in Langleybury; he bought Langleybury Manor (built 1725) and Estate from Edmund Fearnley Whittingstall, a Watford brewer, in 1856.

The drawing room panelling at Model Farm bears the initials of William Lloyd and his wife; the house formed part of the estate he built - including St Pauls Church (1864), Langleybury School and several other properties in the area.

In the late 1940’s Model Farm was purchased by The Earl of Dudley to become part of his Great Westwood Estate. This was subsequently purchased by The Hon. Anthony Cayser and at that time was a well-known shooting estate. The current owners bought Model Farm from The Hon. A. Cayser’s estate.
