We enter the home through the semi glazed white UPVC front door which opens straight into the hall with its wood laminate floor. The stairs are directly in front of us and to our left a door opens into the lounge. This is a fairly typical lounge, offering plenty of light through its front facing picture window and providing a relaxed atmosphere for chilled out family evenings. It is given a very modern feel by the way that where you may expect to find the focal point of a fireplace this focal point is provided by a TV and the associated sound system. Fire? It’s so yesterday darling…. And, with the efficient gas combi powered central heating doing what it does best, unnecessary.

A door at the rear of the room takes us into the kitchen/diner. This is a deceptive room, with its ‘L’ shape providing the effect of really being two rooms in one, rather than the more usual arrangement of a kitchen with a table stuck at one end. The kitchen itself has been thoughtfully laid out to produce an efficient working space where all the equipment falls easily to hand and all the labour saving white goods are present and correct.

The back door leads us out onto a raised patio area. Triangular in shape and surprising in its size, this springs another surprise in that you realise this home is in fact in quite an elevated position and offers pleasing views. It is also and more importantly, not overlooked itself which makes it a very pleasant venue for family gatherings, al fresco dining or simply relaxing with a cool drink at the end of a long day.
A big set of French doors allow entry to the rear of the attached garage, where we find a vast space, suitable for a workshop with its power and light. Additional storage is provided in the roof, courtesy of what is almost a mezzanine floor. Along with the big chest freezer the garage also plays host to the relocated gas combi boiler. When the garage was built, it was put onto foundations deep enough to support an upper storey to allow for the addition of extra bedrooms at a later date.

Returning indoors and moving upstairs we find the family bathroom immediately in front of us. This is, as you would expect a pleasant and well fitted out room. The floor covered with ceramic look-alike vinyl, complimenting the fully tiled walls. Heat is provided by the ever practical heated towel rail and the suite comprises a pedestal hand basin, lavatory and teardrop shaped bath with shower over and shaped glass screen protecting the room from over enthusiastic users. It’s worth mentioning that the shower is one of the type that runs directly from the mains with the water heated by the gas combi, rather than the sad little dribbles that are often all that an electric shower can manage.

Adjacent to here and also facing the rear of the home is the smaller of the two bedrooms. This although not huge, comfortably accommodates a large free standing wardrobe, dressing table and bedside table, as well as a double bed without feeling at all cramped.

There is a large linen cupboard on the landing before we eventually find the master bedroom. This overlooks the front garden and offers a good deal more room largely due to the addition of a big set of fitted wardrobes, whose mirrored glass fronts always give the illusion of space. Here however, it is not merely an illusion. Further storage is found in abundance in the far corner of the room, where a door into the space above the stair well would contain the majority of a supermodel’s clothing allowance.
