An immaculately presented and versatile home in pretty but above all, interesting gardens within a few minutes of Mold and all the convenience that suggests, providing all the plusses of village life with few, if any of the minuses. If that sounds like what you are looking for, read on.
Sitting in an elevated position at the upper end of Vicarage road in Rhydymwyn this comfortable home oozes class. Swinging onto the block paved drive we find a spacious parking area to the front of the detached garage before continuing past the front of the home with its attractive colonial style veranda supported by large decorative columns. A series of stone steps lead us up to the dark UPVC wood effect front door with twin engraved glass panels.
The front door opens directly into the large square inner hall with its attractive quarry stone floor and from where the staircase leads up to our right. Straight ahead of us is the fully glazed door in to the lounge, featuring a continuation of the floor from the hall. This is everything a lounge should be; a cosy and comforting room; a feeling accentuated by the large gas fired ‘wood burner’ mounted in one corner. This is never actually used, such is the efficiency of the gas combi powered central heating although its visual attractiveness is obvious and adds to the atmosphere of the room. Light comes from a large picture window facing the rear of the home and from a set of sliding patio doors which open into the large conservatory.
This conservatory is big enough to easily fulfil a dual role, providing space for not only a full six seat dining table, becoming a very pleasant dining room with its views over the garden but also a spacious sitting room enjoying the same vista. Immediately outside the conservatory lies a large patio area looking down over the garden and providing a perfect spot for alfresco dining or simply relaxing with the friends that are sure to flock to so welcoming a home as this.
The remaining door from the conservatory leads us into the kitchen. This is a lovely bright room, courtesy not only of the light from the glazed conservatory door but also the dual aspect windows that look down over the village. The units are arranged in a classic ‘U’ shape to take maximum advantage of the light and views and include an integrated dish washer and space for an automatic washing machine. The rear wall provides a home for the tall fridge/freezer along with some attractive display units and storage. The door in the far wall allows us to complete the circuit, arriving back in the main entrance hall.
Another door off the hall is where this home begins to reveal its versatility, allowing us into the downstairs bedroom. Facing the rear of the home, this is of an excellent size and features fitted wardrobes with a large vanity unit between them while still leaving more than enough space for various large items of free standing furniture, including an office desk(!) along with the double bed. It is a measure of the room that it contains all these without feeling remotely overpowered or crowded.
I mentioned the home’s versatility but why would a downstairs bedroom be thought of in that way? Well the reason lies adjacent to here where we find a bright and comprehensively equipped bathroom, making an ideal arrangement for an elderly relative for whom stairs are becoming a problem. This features a continuation of the quarry stone floor from the hall and offers a pedestal hand basin with storage beneath, lavatory, bath and a separate corner mounted shower cubicle with a mains water fed power shower.
Leaving here we pass a door to the under-stair storage before climbing up to the landing. Immediately facing us is a Hobbit sized door giving access to the storage space in the eaves, to make up for the lack of an actual loft. Opposite here, beside the stair well another door opens into the smallest of the bedrooms. This, although definitely a single room is nonetheless adequately large, comfortable and features a particular love of mine; a Velux roof mounted window.
Adjacent to here is the main bedroom and this is a revelation. Damn. Conducting viewings here will now be doubly difficult as i’ve spoiled the big ‘reveal’. Three windows, one in the gable end and two roof mounted Velux lights provide a fabulous amount of light and along with this, pleasing views across the garden and the village beyond. There are currently a series of TV advertisements for fitted bedroom furniture and to be honest, they could have been filmed in this room.
Everything is well positioned, well thought out and obviously of a very high quality providing everything you could ever want and covering your present and future storage needs perfectly.
Finally, at the opposite end of the landing we find the other bathroom. Or more accurately shower room, but this is not to denigrate it in any way. Featuring a very attractive floor reminiscent of a ship’s deck it offers a pedestal hand basin, lavatory and walk-in shower cubicle. A small door in one side wall reveals a huge hanging wardrobe/airing cupboard, as if the main bedroom was short of storage space…..

A home offering country living within easy reach of the town, with gardens that are beautiful and should you really care about where your food originates, productive too, The list goes on and on but ‘seeing is believing’.
