Property Description

This impressive Victorian house has been completely redesigned and remodelled by its current owners to create a sophisticated home that offers contemporary family living whilst sympathetically preserving its elegant period heritage.

Sitting on one of the village's most sought-after roads, its period exterior of cream painted render stretches skywards. A lush front lawn is enclosed by smart black iron railings while a gravelled pathway winds up to the stone steps and impressive porched entrance. A gravelled off-street driveway sits neatly to the side, fronting double wooden gates that the family use as access into the house and garden.

The formal entrance opens into a lovely hallway, its honey coloured wooden flooring and oak stair handrail contrasting beautifully with the Farrow & Ball neutral walls. A useful guest cloakroom sits neatly at the rear.

Entered through two separate doors to the left is the fabulous double reception, flooded with light from its triple aspect windows and stretching from front to back of the house. On the raised ground floor level, it enjoys leafy green privacy to the front and at the rear, access onto a roof terrace with plenty of room to laze happily in its southerly sun while enjoying garden views. With a natural stone fireplace for warmth in the colder months this immaculate room with its period features and high ceilings feels unusually homely despite being particularly large.

Returning to the hallway and down a set of wooden stairs, treads illuminated by wall mounted recessed lights, you arrive in the fabulous kitchen, breakfast, dining room. This is a vast space, perfect for entertaining on a large scale and equally wonderful for family living. A granite topped island of epic proportions delivers wonderful cooking facilities and with 6 deep pan drawers and space for a wine fridge, plenty of storage options too. With seating for 3 stools, it is not only the kitchen centrepiece but a space for family and friends to gather as you cook. The granite worktops contrast beautifully with the painted cabinetry that houses the integrated appliances while a burgundy glass oven splashback gives a pop of contemporary colour. A deep pantry cupboard, two under stairs cupboards and a guest cloakroom with lots of storage affords ample space to pack away bags and wellies. To the right of the kitchen there is plenty of space for a dining table and chairs and side aspect double French doors can extend your living space onto the wide paved terrace and garden beyond.

Through a part glazed door at the rear is a family room, perfect for cosy cinema nights in or a safe space for the children to play as you prepare dinner. It is full of light thanks to wraparound double aspect windows with views over the lush green lawn.

To the right is separate utility room with plumbing and space for appliances and another sink, perfect for muddy boots and paws.

Climbing the carpeted stairs to the first floor a beautiful master bedroom suite sits at the front of the house, its handsome bay window brightening the space with sunny leafy green views. Its Farrow and Ball paint tones, high ceiling and period features make it a restful retreat. The en suite bathroom has a deep double ended bath, separate shower cubicle, mirrored vanity unit and a large front aspect window reflecting light off its white fittings and contemporary tiles.

Next door is another generously sized bedroom which is bright, beautifully presented and benefits from a fitted wardrobe for storage.

A further flight of stairs to the second floor takes you up to two more double bedrooms, the one at the front impressively large with stunning open countryside views and the rear one brightened by its double aspect garden views. A cavernous loft space can be accessed from both.

A stylish shower room with glazed walk in double shower cubicle, natural contemporary tiling and gleaming white sanitary ware completes the floor.

Outside to the rear, the landscaped garden has been cleverly planted and well maintained with an expanse of lawn big enough for garden play equipment and space for children to play. Mature trees, plants and shrubs afford great privacy enabling you to enjoy alfresco dining on the paved terrace under the wooden pergola.

This is a beautifully proportioned family home that has been flawlessly finished by the current owners ensuring décor and fittings of the highest quality throughout. It really does offer a luxury family lifestyle that you could move straight in and enjoy.

Being within walking distance of Southborough's picturesque cricket green, woodland walks and local village shops and yet a stone's throw from easy access to the M25, fast rail connections to central London and first class schools, it is the perfect home for families with professional needs.
