Ground floor heating is via a zoned underfloor system. The first floor bathroom also has underfloor heating.
The sitting room, dining room and hall area has engineered oak flooring fitted.
At the time of build, these properties backed onto the brickfields (Victoria Brick and Tile Co in Dartmouth Avenue - est 1887) owned by Thomas Hughes Delabere May. Mr May was also one of the largest landowners in the area at the time and several local street names celebrate this. Maybrick and Mayfield Roads are the most obvious connection with the May family and their profession but there are two further local Oldfield streets named after the Mays - Claude Avenue/Terrace and Cynthia Road, after Thomas and Mary's first two children. The land for Claude Terrace was sold by Thomas May to local builder James Gould in December 1895. Mr Gould lived just around the corner at White Lodge Cottage in West Avenue. By 1902, the six houses of Claude Terrace were occupied by John Warren (railwayman), Thomas Ricks (warehouseman), Mary Gould (dressmaker), Edward Davis (clerk), William Turvey (fireman) and Sydney Painter (brickmaker).
