One of the main reasons we purchased Swale Cottage was the location, it is central in Whitstable, close to the beach and has secure parking – so it is rare to find a property like this. It is a unique place to live, there aren’t many properties that have the variation of restaurants we do within 50 paces, so that coupled with the amenities in the town means we have everything here. Our three sons all enjoyed the freedom of Whitstable, from the proximity to the beach to being able to get out in a safe environment. We looked across Kent in various seaside locations and for us Whitstable was the finest for all of those reasons.
Swale Cottage is a unique weatherboard clad property, we benefit from the fact that it is only 13 years old and has been designed to blend old and new. We have the perfect balance of character meets modern, with all the luxuries of a new build, including en suite shower room and walk in wardrobe in the master bedroom.
We love the living spaces throughout our home, our first floor balcony is private and it is hard to beat sitting there at sunset, looking over the rooftops of Whitstable. The top floor room has sea views from the Juliette balcony, it is amazing to sit in the evening with the shutters and doors open – we use it as our second living room. You enter our home straight into the lounge/dining room and can instantly feel the classic cottage atmosphere, it is a relaxing place to be and we are not disturbed.
We are going to miss the property itself and the location, both have worked so well for us. Whitstable has continued to improve each year, evolving with new shops while keeping its class, which is something we have loved about it.
